• Assignment Description:This assignment focuses on analyzing and identifying opportunities within the forestry sector's value chains in Peru. Specifically, it aims to address challenges and propose strategies to enhance the value chains related to timber and non-timber forest products, as well as ecosystem services. The study will target five key departments in Peru, offering an in-depth evaluation of social, economic, and productive dynamics while identifying opportunities to improve market access, technology use, and sustainable practices.Scope of Work:Developing a Work Plan:Create a detailed work plan outlining methodologies and timelines for conducting the analysis.Information Gathering:Collect primary and secondary data from relevant stakeholders in the forestry value chains. This involves stratified sampling to ensure representation across different producers and departments. Key data points include demographic details, access to basic services, market access, productive capacities, and legal conditions.Socioeconomic and Productive Diagnosis:Prepare a diagnostic report highlighting the socioeconomic and productive characteristics of stakeholders in the prioritized value chains, including small and medium enterprises and community groups.Value Chain Analysis:Characterize the forestry value chains by mapping key actors, logistical processes, business cycles, and production performance. The analysis will identify bottlenecks, opportunities for improvement, and sustainable market access strategies.Market and Technology Assessment:Evaluate the current and potential markets (both national and international) for forestry products, including certifications and consumption trends.
