Description : Andean mountain ecosystems are under increasing pressure from climate and land use change. The subject of this tender concerns activities for their protection and sustainable management. Mandating will consider an inception phase and a first phase that is subject on the approval of the credit by SDC.
The overall objective of the programme will be achieved through 3 outcomes
(i) increased knowledge on the value of Andean mountain ecosystems is generated locally and shared regionally and globally, informing the national planning of adaptation measures;
(ii) demonstated empirical evidence of effectively implemented nature-based solutions in selected watersheds supports national and regional upscaling of such solutions;
(iii) national and subnational governments and private stakeholders strengthen policies, institutional frameworks, planning instruments and investments for sustainable management of Andean mountain ecosystems.
