Description:
IFC is seeking a consulting firm that, under IFC-s supervision, will develop a comprehensivediagnosis of the state of co-processing in Peru and propose enabling guidelinesfor its promotion in the cement industry. The objective is to identifytechnical, regulatory, institutional, and logistical barriers currentlylimiting co-processing development, as well as to generate practical inputsthat improve the enabling framework and foster the use of waste as analternative energy source in the cement sector.Specific Objectives:1. Prepare adetailed and geo-referenced inventory of municipal and industrial waste withpotential for co-processing, prioritizing areas near cement plants.2. Assess thecurrent regulatory and institutional framework governing waste management andits energy recovery, identifying gaps, restrictions, or areas for improvement.3. Identify nationaland international reference cases and best practices applicable to the Peruviancontext.4. Propose technicaland regulatory guidelines that may serve as inputs for circular economyregulations or be discussed in relevant technical forums.
