- The World Bank issupporting Peru-s cities in promoting safe, clean, sustainable, and affordabletransport through the Sustainable and Resilient Urban Transport in Regional Cities and Metropolises of Peru Program, focusing on the cities of Arequipa, Chiclayo, Cusco, Huamanga, Piura, and Trujillo. The Program isplanned to have four (4) main Components, with the specific combination ofinterventions depending on the specific city. These include: (1) interventionsto support sustainable transport services (road infrastructure, design of buslanes, and bicycle lanes); (2) control and management of traffic and roadsafety (traffic light networks and control centers, automated systems fordetecting traffic violations, high accident points, and low-trafficneighborhoods); (3) institutional strengthening through technical assistance;and (4) program management component. The objective of the Consultancy is to provide technical advisorysupport to update and/or elaborate pre-investment studies in the selected citiesto the level of Perfil for projects under Component (2) - Control andmanagement of traffic and road safety, specifically, traffic light networks andcontrol centers as well as automated systems for detecting traffic violations.The specific types of projects for whichpre-investment studies need to be updated and/or elaborated include:1.1.Centralized Traffic Lights Network and ControlCenter, including implementation of a centralized traffic lights network and establishmentof the Traffic Control Center;1.2.Automated Traffic Violation Detection Systemand Traffic Signaling (speed limits), including a Control Center and installationof an automated detection system and traffic signaling.
